3D casting is not printing — it's a craft. We answer the questions we most often hear from organisers before their first order.
What kind of event are 3D cast medals suitable for?
3D cast medals belong at events where prestige is part of the setting. An industry award gala, the anniversary of a company with decades of tradition, a national race with a history going back several decades, a tournament with a long heritage — this is the environment in which a heavy ZNAL alloy casting makes the right impression. When a participant holds the medal and feels the depth of the relief with a finger, they know right away that they have received an award that is taken seriously.
What distinguishes 3D relief from engraving or printing?
In 3D casting the die builds a true three-dimensional shape — elements rise above the surface of the medal and cast their own shadows. We can reproduce a human face with its characteristic expression, the architectural detail of an iconic building, a sculpture of an animal or any spatial form. Engraving cuts into the surface, UV printing lies flat on it — 3D casting creates a sculpture. The effect is tangible: every contour of the design can be felt under your finger.
How should I prepare a design for 3D casting?
You don't need to come with a finished 3D model. We accept designs in any form — from precise CAD documentation to a sketch on paper with a verbal description. Our graphic designer translates the idea into production documentation, prepares a visualisation of the medal and sends it for approval. Only after the design is approved do we make the die. The graphic design is completely free — you can revise it until you are fully satisfied.
How long does 3D cast medal production take?
The standard lead time is 6–7 working days from design approval. The first order requires making a die, which fits within this time. For repeat orders of the same design, production is faster — the die is already ready. For urgent deadlines tied to the date of a race or gala — call us and we will discuss express options from 24 hours. Minimum order: 25 pieces.
