Why do Spinfactory 3D trophies look like castings?

We print on professional FDM machines with a 0.08 mm layer. At this precision the layer lines are practically invisible — after a metallic coating is applied, the effect resembles a traditional casting. This is not off-the-shelf equipment: industrial FDM printers offer dimensional repeatability and material stability unattainable in the consumer segment. Each trophy then undergoes manual finishing: sanding, primer, base coat and decorative finish. It's craftsmanship supported by technology, not mass production.

What form can a 3D trophy take?

3D printing technology doesn't limit the shape — we can make a bust reproducing the features of a specific person, a company logo in full three dimensions, a model of a building or sports venue, an abstract sculptural composition, or even a literal embodiment of an industry symbol. If it can be drawn, we can build it. We start projects with a conversation, not a finished 3D file — our graphic designer translates the idea into a production model.

What makes a trophy look prestigious?

Prestige is built from details: the smoothness of the surface, the weight of the whole, the quality of the base and the finish of the plate. We mount our trophies on solid wood bases — oak, walnut or maple — selected and dried so that they don't warp over time. The personalised plate is made of brass or aluminium and laser-engraved. You can feel the difference as soon as you pick up the award — we don't need to explain it.

What does the process of ordering a 3D trophy look like?

You start by getting in touch — you can describe your idea in words, send a sketch, a logo or a photo. Our graphic designer prepares a 3D model and a concept rendering, which we send for approval. At this stage you can make any changes — at no extra cost. After approval we start printing and finishing. The whole process, from first contact to finished trophy, usually takes 5–7 working days.

Based on a photo or photographic documentation, we digitally model a portrait, which we print at a resolution that reproduces facial features, expressions and characteristic details. A bust on a wooden plinth with a brass plate is an award that stays on the desk — it doesn't end up in a drawer.

After manual finishing, application of metallic coatings and varnishing, the final result is indistinguishable from a casting, with complete freedom of shape not available with traditional techniques.
3D printing technology imposes no restrictions on shape. We use professional industrial filaments — materials with a higher density and more repeatable mechanical properties than standard consumer filaments. After coatings and protective varnish are applied, the trophy is resistant to scratches and the temperature changes typical of office conditions. Solid wood bases retain their appearance and structure for many years.
Yes — before every production run we prepare 3D renderings showing the trophy from several sides. The visualisation shows the form, surface finish, base and the text on the plate. You can make revisions until you fully approve it — the design is free and without obligation until it is approved.
Yes. We make our own wooden boxes matched to the size of the trophy, with a foam insert cut to its shape. We also have other solutions — e.g. cases and gift packaging. A box increases the perceived value of the award and turns the moment of presentation into a ritual. Especially recommended for corporate galas, anniversaries and individual distinctions.
